The bulletin contains a description, results and conclusions from the study carried out in 2016 at the Department of Building Structures of the Silesian University of Technology. This study was a continuation of the work carried out in 2007 to recognize the behavior of this type of construction in the event of a breakthrough over the central column.
Most of the plate-pole connections carried out so far concerned various methods of reinforcement and checking of models and calculation methods, as well as the effectiveness of various ways to reinforce these construction zones. Little attention was paid to the preservation of the half-timbered zone in the emergency stage - after puncture. This phase is often overlooked at the design stage. The need for designers to take this situation into account was forced by the provisions of PN-EN 1991-1-1:2004. More explicit requirements in this regard, independent of the construction regulations currently contained in PN-EN 1992-1-1:2008, are included in PN-EN 1991-1-7:2008.
