What is the difference in the load-bearing capacity of the edge fragment of a plate-and-column structure after a column failure, depending on its location on the edge of the structure?

The bulletin presents a description of the research, which is a continuation of research work carried out at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology in the field of description, evaluation and behavior of reinforced concrete elements reinforced with EPSTAL steel with high continuity in normal operation and in emergency conditions.

The aim of these tests was to determine the behavior of the edge part of the plate-column structure in an emergency, which was caused by the removal of the column located on the edge of the plate in the middle of its length. The basis of the analysis was the area of two fields separated from the entire slab around the removed column.
